What is the difference between a life coach and a therapist?
A therapist deals with mental health as a medically trained professional and focuses on emotional healing, whereas a life or life transformational coach will use certain skill sets to reprogramme your mind to accomplish your desired state or goal. Richard Bandler and John Grinder (both psychologists) created Neuro-linguistics programming which is a pseudoscience approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy. I studied with one of their last students, Dr Doris Greenwood, Doctor of Neuropathy.
I have my masters in Neuro-linguistics programming, I did a course in emotional intelligence and have my masters in makeup professionals which allows me to do full transformations changing my client’s overall wellbeing and identity.
What tools do you use to help clients overcome hurdles in their lives?
In Neurolinguistics we have many ways to help our clients including the Meta model (patterns of thinking) and Milton model (hypnosis). Talk therapy also plays a big role where we help our clients look at things differently. As a life transformational coach, you need to be able to build rapport with your client knowing exactly what is going on in their mind, how they think and how they behave to help them change. I have designed and created different workshops that help or improve self-awareness, self-development, emotional intelligence, and deal with mental disorders.
What do you find the most rewarding about your job?
The most rewarding part for me is seeing my clients change for the better, right in front of my eyes, realising and letting go of their emotional past or difficulties. Normally after one session my client will feel so light and motivated and I know this feeling carries through into their daily lives. Just knowing that I helped someone through trauma, behavioural difficulties or mental disorders, something they may have been struggling with for years, is my absolute passion.
What is your favourite piece of advice?
Do not be afraid to let go of your environment or habits. Teach yourself discipline and self-respect. Always know that you still have a lot to learn, and that knowledge is the highest power you can hold. Listen, understand, and do not judge.
What is a life coach?
A life coach helps their clients achieve their goals or dreams, they help you reach a certain level of self awareness and self development. To also see your potential and improve your capabilities by understanding and accepting yourself. A life transformational coach can help you move away from the past and help you work towards bettering your future and transforming you into the best version of who you are.
Who could benefit from a life/life transformational coach?
I always say that every coach needs a coach.
I had my own coach. Having someone supporting you or believing in you, someone who is interested in your life story, doing everything in their power to make you feel that you can accomplish anything you desire. Every person could benefit from having a life coach.
