Tracey Cole of Village Gardens is passionate about what she does, and nothing brings her more joy than creating beautiful gardens for her clients to enjoy. She feels that looking after staff members well, excellent service delivery, and taking pride in everything one does is key to being a successful entrepreneur.
She says that her business is obviously about her on the front end, but the key players and face of her company are her staff, so she invests a lot of time and energy into making sure her staff are well-trained and feel motivated, inspired, and valued in the business.
What Tracey finds the most rewarding is having loyal, happy clients, and she loves the nature of the business (excuse the pun!) in that she is constantly learning about plants and horticulture. She aims as far as possible to maintain a garden organically and pesticide-free and tries to use water-wise, indigenous plants in her work to attract nature, save water and time to produce a beautiful, yet low-maintenance garden for her clients. Also top of her agenda is helping her clients to create edible gardens – what could be nicer than picking a fresh, home-grown, sun-warmed tomato off a stalk in your very own veggie patch?
Tracey firmly believes that gardening is as good for the body, as it is for the soul so do not wait for Spring to find peace and harmony, start now!
“One who plants a garden, plants happiness” and “Life begins the day you start a garden” ~ Chinese proverbs.
Protecting animals is something very close to Tracey’s heart so her company donates to various charities as much as they can to help protect those who cannot protect themselves.
