At the age of 21, Wendy decided it was time to buy a house. All she could afford at the time, was a rather derelict one but she bought it, renovated, and made a handsome profit out of it. While she was looking for another house, she was offered a job as an estate agent and she ended up staying in the industry for 30 years, all the while buying and renovating her own homes. She loved it and learned a huge amount about people, the dynamics in families, and what works and doesn’t work in a home along the way. She was constantly asked for ideas about what people could do with their homes so 16 years ago she decided to turn this knowledge and ability into a business in the architectural design and renovation project management field using all her learnings as an agent. Wendy says that designing and renovating clients’ homes has been the highlight of her career. She defines success as a “win-win-win” – loving what she does, happy clients, and fair remuneration for her work.
When asked about what motivates her, Wendy said, “life itself – I have managed to find the balance; I have a wonderful, supportive husband and family and meaningful work in my chosen career”.
The mantra Wendy lives by is total dedication to whichever design and renovation project she takes on, treating it as if it is her own home. Creating a beautiful home, whilst managing the project well and making it as stress-free an experience as possible is paramount for her.
Wendy is looking forward to tackling the steady stream of challenging home design renovations in the pipeline, along with the construction, as part of her extensive portfolio so if you have a project in mind and would like to make your “living design” dreams a reality, look no further:
